2007 Hub City Grand Prix
The 2nd Annual Hub City Grand Prix was held in Centralia, WA this weekend. The event was a huge success.
There was a huge turnout this year as cooler and lawn chair toting race fans lined the streets around the Centralia College campus. The smell of gasoline and barbecues filled the air as go-karts and motorcycles whizzed by. Speeds were clocked as high as 84 miles per hour coming down the straight away.
I didn’t get a chance to go to the races last year, so I made it a point to go this year. What a blast. I missed the time-trials that they had on Saturday, but had a chance to see the afternoon races on Sunday before heading off to the Garlic Festival. I will make it a point not to miss the Grand Prix next year. Next year we will be camping out on the streets with food and drink to enjoy the activities.
After talking with several Go-Kart fans, it seems that this year was bigger and better than last year. More racers, faster speeds, more hay bails to line the streets, and more race fans participated in the annual event. Everyone I talked to is planning on making this an annual event and look forward to the 2008 Grand Prix.
I had a chance to get some racing photos of the Go-Karts and motorcycles as well as an awesome video that we posted on YouTube. We hope that everyone had as good of a time as my family and I did. See ya next year!

I’m Angel. I just wanted to say thanks for posting this blog! I’ve linked it to my blog. I was actually one of the KCED camera crew people out there doing camera for the Grand Prix. The first day I did the camera by the announcer and then I did the turn 8 camera from inside master control. The next day I just did the turn 8 camera. It was awesome!

just copy and paste the link into your browser. The video from last year’s 2006 Grand Prix was made into a DVD with the help of KCED’s Radio/Tv instructor and General Manager (same person) by the company that does the Grand Prix. That is the video I posted the link to, however, they do not have anything from this year’s 2007 Grand Prix posted “Officially” as of yet. I will keep you and everyone posted. As I said, I’ve linked to your blog from my blog. I have also linked to this year’s Grand Prix videos that you have posted on my Youtube page which has been updated and posted in my blog.
